Hey thanks for popping into the blog, I try to visit and get some posting's up and going as often as I can . Most of my work can be seen on my website, but you may find a few snippets and back stories here , that are not on the website .

The Gear

The Gear and some other stuff.

Camera gear, I have been mainly medium format with Phaseone backs for some time . But now I have been working alot with the new Hasselblad h5D and h6D plus the Canon 5DSR . Very impressed with the 5Dsr

My second system is the Canon 1ds mark 111.

Lens , 24, 35 50 105, 135 and tilt shifts 45/90 great product lens , and offer some very nice results .

I carry a Fuji x100 for a lot of just walk about stuff. Its a great little camera and has produce some really nice images. But end of the day for me , nothing has yet replaced the feel and fire power and speed of the larger Slr and medium format cameras. I am not a big user of the tech in my camera, I choose a f stop , shutter and shoot manual for almost everything . I find it still yields the best results for my natural light shooting . Flash is Flash .

Capture one is for sure the main file raw system I use , and photoshop for all my fine detail retouching work.

Capture one is excellent for processing and file control for the client.

99.9% of the time I shoot tethered for all my clients and for me, its simply the best way to push through the day and get it done.

Lighting gear is all Profoto with the D4 2400 R pack . Soft boxes, dishes umbrellas all the tools to create a wide swatch of lighting styles.

No studio is complete with out grip stands and gobos, and must without a good selection of cards and flags.

Being a commercial shooter its a bit insane the amount of tools one will collect to make good selection of styles for clients.

My studio is 24x40 north light facing with full black out blinds. I love having a garage full of tools its a great place to pull it all together and no everything you need is on tap a arms lenght away.
